We are incredibly excited to announce that we will finally be performing Peter Thompson’s Ubu Roy on October 14! This new one-act opera is scored for a cast of six singers and piano trio. It is based on Alfred Jarry’s surrealist classic, and its irreverent, humorous, and violent take on politics and government is extremely relevant in today’s climate. This concert performance will be the work’s premiere, and we are honoured to be participating! Our own Erika Reiman will serve as musical director, with Christine Chesebrough on violin and Gordon Cleland on cello.
